China has numerous small and medium-sized ports, some of which have limited areas, a small proportion of passengers suitable for self-service passing and concentrated passing time of the passengers suitable for self-service passing. If all of these ports use conventional e-channels do not tend to improve the efficiency of passenger inspection and release but result in crowded conventional channels, idle e-channels and so on; if all these ports use conventional manual identity document inspection counters, the goal of “Intensity the police by technology” cannot be really realized for modern inspections at ports.
To solve the problems above, we have designed an automated passenger clearance solution for medium-small size port. This solution enables inspectors to switch between the e-channel mode and the conventional channel mode flexibly. With this solution, a port can have two channels or only one bidirectional channel, to conduct the same inspections as conventional self-service channels, save land and meet the demand for manual inspections and release.
